Film Title: Rumor Has It
Starring: Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Costner, Shirley MacLaine, Mark Ruffalo
Director: Rob Reiner
Genre: Comedy/Drama/Romance
Approx Length: 96 minutes
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].: B
Short description/summary of the film: (taken from imdb) Jennifer Aniston plays a woman who learns that her family was the inspiration for the book and film "The Graduate" -- and that she just might be the offspring of the well-documented event.
My thoughts: I heard a lot of bad reveiws about this movie, but I actually liked it. I'll admit, the whole concept of all these girls in the same family sleeping with this man kind of grossed me out, but it was funny. And the scenery in some parts about mid way through the movie was absolutely beautiful :)

Film Title: Cheaper By The Dozen 2
Starring: Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt
Director: Adam Shankman
Genre: Comedy/Family
Approx Length: 94 minutes
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].: C+
Short description/summary of the film: (taken from imdb) Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt return as heads of the Baker family who, while on vacation, find themselves in competition with a rival family of eight children, headed by Eugene Levy.
My thoughts: I didn't think it was quite as good as the first one, but it was still funny. I enjoyed all the parts that had to do with the father's from both families competeing. I wouldn't call it 'laugh out loud funny', but humorous none the less.

Film Title: Prozac Nation
Starring: Christina Ricci, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jessica Lange, Jason Biggs, Michelle Williams
Director: Erik Skjoldbjærg
Genre: Drama
Approx Length: 95 minutes
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].: B
Short description/summary of the film: (taken from imdb) A young woman (Ricci) struggles with depression during her first year at Harvard. Based on Elizabeth Wurtzel's novel
My thoughts: I really enjoyed this film. Wurtzel's depiction of her depression was very insightful. I too have suffered from depression, and I saw quite a few similarities between her and my personality. If you are a fan of memoirs or dramatic movies, I HIGHLY suggest this film! :D

Film Title: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Starring: Robert Downey Jr., Val Kilmer, Michelle Monaghan
Director: Shane Black
Genre: Comedy
Approx Length: 103 minutes
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].: C-
Short description/summary of the film: (taken from imdb) A petty thief (Downey) posing as an actor is brought to Los Angeles for an unlikely audition and finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation along with his high school dream girl (Monaghan) and a detective (Kilmer) who's been training him for his upcoming role...

My thoughts: The only reason I did not give this movie a D is because of the good one-liners. I just didn't get into it, and I thought the storyline was kind of weak, to be honest.

I have seen so many movies recently, that I do not want to bore you all with them, so I will review the last two movies that I just saw.

MOVIE #11:
Film Title: The Omen (remake)
Starring: Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles, Mia Farrow, David Thewlis
Director: John Moore
Genre: Horror
Approx Length: 110 minutes
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].: A
Short description/summary of the film: (taken from imdb) A remake of the 1976 horror classic The Omen (1976), an American official realizes that his young son may literally be the devil incarnate.

My thoughts: I was pleasantly surprised by this remake. As much as I love the original, I think it is safe to say that I love this version just as much. I really thought that Liev Schrieber portrayed Mr. Thorne perfectly. There were a few changes in the movie like...
SPOILERAGE!!!Collapse )
If you really like the remake, then I suggest you see this version as well!

MOVIE #12:
Film Title: Elephant
Starring: Alex Frost, Eric Deulen, John Robinson, Elias McConnell, Jordan Taylor
Director: Gus Van Sant
Genre: Drama
Approx Length: 81 minutes
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].: B
Short description/summary of the film: (taken from imdb) "Elephant" is a film about a normal day in high school that ends in a Columbine-esque massacre. We become observers of the events that happen throughout the day, as the film is filled with long tracking shots of students going out of and into classes, the cafeteria, the gym, or the library. The characters in the film are mostly played by non-actors, and most of the film is improvised.

My thoughts: I am glad that I saw this film. I honestly thought that it was going to be a slower-paced film, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was an interesting insight into the lives of both "normal" and "abnormal" teenagers. But because of the subject matter, I do not think that I would want to see this movie again.

Film Title:  THE PINK PANTHER (2006)
Starring:  STEVE MARTIN, KEVIN KLINE, BEYONCE KNOWLES
Director:  SHAWN LEVY
Genre:  COMEDY
Approx Length:  93 MINUTES
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].:  B-
Short description/summary of the film:  Loosely based on the 1964 Peter Sellers original film, where the detective must solve the murder of a famous soccer coach and find out who stole the infamous Pink Panther diamond
(from IMDb.com)

My thoughts:  i've never seen the original, and i've never really cared to ... i still don't.  this version was funny though, steve martin is such a dork !  to me, it wasn't a great movie plot/story wise, but steve martin was freaking hillarious and that's all that really mattered to me.  his crappy accent was well worth the time i spent watching it rather than sleeping.  it was absolutely ridiculous !!!

Film Title:  STAR WARS III - REVENGE OF THE SITH
Starring:  EWAN MCGREGOR, HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN, NATALIE PORTMAN
Director:  GEORGE LUCAS
Genre:  ACTION / ADVENTURE / FANTASY
Approx Length:  140 MINUTES
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].:  A
Short description/summary of the film:  After three years of fighting in the Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker concludes his journey towards the Dark Side of the Force, putting his friendship with Obi Wan Kenobi and his marriage at risk
(from IMDb.com)

My thoughts:  i love all 6 of the star wars movies, but i think i like this one the best because its where the first 3 tie into the second 3.  hrm, nevermind the fact that i have a girly crush on anakin skywalker AND obi wan ... i think some of the acting could have been better, but the special effects were cool.  and even though a lot of the focus is on the romantic stuff between anakin and padme, the love scenes don't over power the plot line of anakin's rise to darth vader.  loved the lightsaber fight scenes, and i teared up at the end.  I LOVE YOU ANI !!!  (LOL)

Film Title: Bullets Over Broadway
Starring: John Cusack, Dianne Wiest, Jennifer Tilly, Chazz Palminteri, Mary-Louise Parker
Director: Woody Allen
Genre: Comedy/Romance/Crime
Approx Length: 1 hrs. 38 mins.
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].: B+
Short description/summary of the film: Found on IMDB.com: Set in 1920's New York City, this movie tells the story of idealistic young playwright David Shayne. Producer Julian Marx finally finds funding for the project from gangster Nick Valenti. The catch is that Nick's girl friend Olive Neal gets the part of a psychiatrist, and Olive is a bimbo who could never pass for a psychiatrist as well as being a dreadful actress. Agreeing to this first compromise is the first step to Broadway's complete seduction of David, who neglects longtime girl friend Ellen. Meanwhile David puts up with Warner Purcell, the leading man who is a compulsive eater, Helen Sinclair, the grand dame who wants her part jazzed up, and Cheech, Olive's interfering hitman / bodyguard. Eventually, the playwright must decide whether art or life is more important.

My thoughts: I normally don't like Woody Allen. I find his movies weird and annoying and his directing style wears thin after a while. But I did enjoy this movie. The acting in it is superb. Dianne Wiest as the aging Stage Diva is hilarious, Chazz Palminteri is charming as a smart mobster, Mary-Louise Parker is as wonderful as ever, and I hardly ever do not love something that Jennifer Tilly does. I just can't not like Jennifer Tilly and believe me I've tried. I've tried to find a problem with her voice or her acting but it's not there. She loves to parody herself and uses her unique voice to bring something to all the characters she plays that you didn't think could be there. She really brought the movie together and no one else could have played that part so well. Small roles by Tracy Ullman and Jim Broadbent are also wonderful in this film. Watching Jim Broadbent's physical appearance change in this is laugh out loud funny. It still suffers from Allen's directing style but I recomend it for a fun movie.

Film Title: American History X
Starring: Edward Norton, Edward Furlong, Beverly D'Angelo, Fairuza Balk
Director: Tony Kaye
Genre: Drama
Approx Length: 118 minutes
Rating of the film, F- [worst] to A [best].: A
Short description/summary of the film: Derek Vinyard (Edward Norton) returns from prison to find his younger brother, Danny (Edward Furlong), caught in the same web of racism and hatred that landed him in prison. After Derek's father is killed in the line of duty by a minority, Derek's view of mankind is altered, but while in prison, he discovers that there is good and bad in every race. The task before him now is to convince Danny of his newfound enlightenment.

My thoughts: I really liked this movie, and I will definitely recommend it to others! I don't know if I could sit through it again though. It was just very disturbing and the end really made me MAD!!! I do think that everyone in this country (well other ones too, for that matter!) should see this film, because it leaves such an impression on you, and you will remember this film forever!
